ABOUT TREY

I have served on the Newton County Board of Education since my appointment on March 15, 2016. Later that year, I successfully ran in a special election to serve the remainder of Mr. Stan Edwards term (Mr. Edwards resigned to run, and win,  the Newton County Board of Commissioners District 1 seat.)

I am a native of Newton County and have lived in District 1 for the last 26 years. I am married to my wife of 26 years, Alonda Hodges Bailey—a teacher at Mansfield Elementary School. Alonda and I have three daughters. Anna, age 17, attends Eastside High School and the Newton College and Career Academy, while Kaitlyn & Kristen, both age 14, attend Indian Creek Middle School.

I am the Executive Pastor at Eastridge Church, where I have been on staff for 18 years. After graduating from Newton County High School in 1992, I attended the University of Georgia before graduating from Mercer with a Bachelor degree in Business Information Systems.

I have served the Covington-Newton County Chamber of Commerce as chairman of Leadership Newton County with five years service and three years on the Special Events Committee. My family and I have a great appreciation for the arts and I have volunteered with both the Covington Regional Ballet and the Arts Association of Newton County.

I have a passion for learning and leading.

My life mission statement is to be a catalyst for change in whatever opportunity is presented.
